Mt Albert Islamic Centre is a registered Charitable Trust formed on 26 November 2009. Our main purpose is to facilitate Friday Jummah prayers. The prayers are held at the Mt Albert War Memorial Hall, Mt Albert, Auckland. We used to publish monthly newsletters which are available on this website.
Let’s build a masjid together
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Al-Israa : 20
كُلًّا نُّمِدُّ هٰٓؤُلَآءِ وَهٰٓؤُلَآءِ مِنْ عَطَآءِ رَبِّكَ ۚ وَمَا كَانَ عَطَآءُ رَبِّكَ مَحْظُورًا
“To each [category] We extend – to these and to those – from the gift of your Lord. And never has the gift of your Lord been restricted.”
Al-Israa : 21
انظُرْ كَيْفَ فَضَّلْنَا بَعْضَهُمْ عَلٰى بَعْضٍ ۚ وَلَلْءَاخِرَةُ أَكْبَرُ دَرَجٰتٍ وَأَكْبَرُ تَفْضِيلًا
“Look how We have favored [in provision] some of them over others. But the Hereafter is greater in degrees [of difference] and greater in distinction.”
Jumua prayers were started in the Mt Albert Senior Citizens Hall fifteen (15) years ago sponsored by the ICCCT (International Centre for Children Charitable Trust: www.iccct.org) and later the Mt Albert Islamic Trust (www.mtalbertislamiccentre.org ) was formed.
By the grace of Allah SWT this service was provided continuously to date. الحمد لله
We are now moving on to the next phase of constructing a building for the Masjid.
The initial estimates are as follows:

Allah SWT has blessed this project with the following so far.

| Government contribution | NZD 375,000 |
| Life members’ commitment | NZD 210,0000 |
| TOTAL COMMITTED | NZD 3,085,000 |
Balance to be raised over a period of 10 years NZD 2,915,000
For this purpose a Register of Life Members will be maintained by the Masjid and a certificate will be issued on the receipt of NZD 10,000 or more from each member over a period of ten years or earlier. انشاءالله
Future trustees will be selected from the Life Members who have contributed a minimum of NZD 10,000 over a period of ten years or earlier. That is a contribution of NZD 1,000 a year or $3 a day! انشا الله
